David Watson practices in various aspects of real estate law with an expertise in the areas of land use, planning and zoning, environmental law, and coastal development. He advises clients regarding compliance with federal, state and local Endangered Species Acts, California Environmental Quality Act, Coastal Act, Subdivision Map Act, Clean Water Act and Multiple Species Conservation Program. His practice includes negotiation with and appearances before all federal, state and local agencies with land use jurisdiction in the San Diego County Region and Coastal Zone.
Mr. Watson has served as chairman of the Citizens’ Task Force on Chargers Issues, a member of the City of San Diego Planning Commission, a member of the Task Force on Ballpark Planning, a member of the Board of Directors of the San Diego Convention and Visitors Bureau and president of the Mid-City Development Corporation. He is a member of the San Diego County Building Industry Association’s Public Policy Council, Urban Council, City/County Legislative Committee and Political Communications Committee.
In addition, Mr. Watson is a member of Lambda Alpha International, an honorary society for the advancement of land economics, the Real Property and Environmental Law Sections of the California State Bar, and the Real Property Law section of the San Diego County Bar Association.
