We hire HechtSolberg associates who will thrive in today’s complex business and real estate environment. We are looking for law students and attorneys who will grow into the role of trusted advisors for our clients and successfully engage in aggressive advocacy, candid collaboration and strategic leadership. We mentor, challenge and empower our associates to efficiently and effectively share responsibility for the client relationship and client success.

Our primary means for selecting associates is our annual summer program for second-year law students. The summer program provides immediate immersion into the firm’s day-to-day practice.  Our goal is to provide law students with a good sense of what it is like to work at the firm as an associate. We emphasize mentoring along with substantial client contact and participation in litigation proceedings and business deals to give our summer associates real world experiences. Work is monitored regularly and feedback is provided by supervising attorneys. Most importantly, summer associates are encouraged to participate fully in the firm’s day-to-day life an experience that allows our summer associates and members of the firm to learn more about each other.

Each summer associate is assigned a mentor to answer questions, provide advice, review work assignments and aid in integration into the firm.

We typically seek one to three candidates with outstanding academic credentials, abilities and accomplishments who demonstrate an engaged interest in learning and a commitment to excellence in service. We are also interested in candidates with prior business, academic and/or professional experience.

A summer associate at HechtSolberg can expect to work with attorneys who are committed not only to our clients and to professional excellence, but also to each other as colleagues. Varied work experiences, exposure to multiple practice areas, opportunities to work with most of the firm’s attorneys, and diverse social activities provide summer associates with a great way to learn about the firm, encounter the various aspects of our practice, and get to know our people professionally and socially.
